THE COURT RESULT
Amir Muhammad Khadikhel, Ismat Miakhel and Mansoor Mohammed admitted conspiracy to receive stolen phones and participating in an organised crime group. Khadikhel and Miakhel also admitted conspiracy to transfer or export the devices.
HOW THE CASE BEGAN
In December 2024, approximately 1,000 iPhones bound for Hong Kong were discovered at a warehouse near Heathrow. Almost all were stolen. Detectives intercepted further shipments and examined packaging evidence.
THE RECOVERIES
Police recovered hundreds of phones from a car and another 2,000 from linked properties. The Met estimated that the network’s exports represented around 40% of London’s stolen phones during the period.
